How SureSmile Works

Orthodontic processes typically consist of gradually and gently placing force onto your teeth in specific ways to shift them into better alignment. Traditional metal braces utilize wires and brackets to do this, but SureSmile uses a series of clear aligners to help you achieve a healthier bite pattern. These custom clear trays will need to be worn for a predetermined period, typically about two weeks before moving on to the next set. By wearing them for 20-22 hours every day, you can expect to straighten your smile in about 12 to 18 months on average. The aligners are also virtually invisible, so others won’t even notice you’re undergoing the treatment!

Indications for SureSmile

With SureSmile clear aligners, you can expect to address some of the most common orthodontic problems, including:

Crowded Teeth

Not having enough space in your mouth can cause your pearly whites to crowd together, making it incredibly difficult to properly clean between your teeth. To reduce the chance of issues like gum disease and tooth decay, you can undergo SureSmile treatment to create the ample space necessary for better oral care.

Gaps Between Teeth

Having too many gaps between your teeth can increase the chances of debris and bacteria accumulating in these spaces. If left unchecked, this can lead to issues like gum disease, bad breath, decay, and even infection. With SureSmile, you can move your teeth closer together, reducing your risk of oral health problems and improving your smile.

Bite Alignment

If your bite is misaligned, you can end up experiencing issues with your temporomandibular joint, such as TMJ disorder and/or bruxism (teeth grinding/clenching). SureSmile, however, can help correct complications like overbite, underbite, and crossbite.

The Benefits of SureSmile

With SureSmile clear aligners, you’ll be able to appreciate a variety of advantages, including:

  • Enhanced Comfort : Your clear aligners will be made of smooth plastic dental materials, meaning less of a chance of gum or lip irritation.
  • Discreet Treatment : SureSmile aligners are practically invisible, so you can still show off your pearly whites without bringing much attention to your trays.
  • Removable Trays : Since you can take off your aligners, you can enjoy the foods you like that you would have to hold back on with traditional braces.
  • Relatively Quick Treatment : Compared to metal braces, SureSmile can be completed in 12-18 months, or as little as 6 months depending on your situation.
